Mission statement

  • To help our customers realize their vision;
  • To assist our customers, from concept to reality;
  • To support them, from prototype to production;
  • To enable them to respond fast to market demands and maximize the success of their products;
  • To cooperate with our customers in developing successful products;
  • To serve our customers to their full satisfaction, by developing innovative vision products whose performance surpasses today’s state-of-the-art.

Field of activity

AWAIBA has a ‘fabless’ model for developing and producing high-performance image sensors. The main applications for AWAIBA’s image sensor technology are in computer vision, where computers process the image rather than humans observing video streams. The main markets for AWAIBA’s image sensor expertise include industrial automation and quality control, also known as ‘robot vision’; the automotive sector, namely on-board cameras for comfort and security applications; and medical, where AWAIBA has unique know how and IP in the development of miniaturized cameras for micro-invasive surgery.

AWAIBA also offers design services for outsourced IP development of CMOS sensors, and consultancy for the design, specification, test, and characterization of vision systems.

Besides CMOS image sensor design AWAIBA has profound experiences in the field of packaging for CMOS image sensors particularly Chip On Board (COB), Flip Chip and Chip Scale Packages (CSP) based on Wafer Level processes.
In the area of optics, dependent on the application, lens systems based on glass, or plastic materials with spherical, aspherical or diffractive surfaces can be realized. AWAIBA has experience with Wafer Level optics integration, which permits true “system in a package” solutions and extreme size and price reductions.
These highly integrated vision modules require a careful control and management of the supply chain. AWAIBA therefore offer’s it’s customers to manage production and testing on their behalf.

Key Competence

  • High dynamic range image sensors. Input dynamic range >120dB for automotive and survilance applications.
  • High speed image sensors. > gpix/s data rate. For crash test, motion analysis and high end machine vision applications.
  • Highspeed High resolution Linescan sensors. For Surface inspection, spectroscopy, and triangulation applications
  • Miniature form factor sensors. < 0.25mm2 total chip area. (complete digital camera on chip) For medical endoscopy.

Experience

AWAIBA’s team of experts has more than 10 years of experience in the design and development of CMOS image sensors for a wide variety of applications, over several generations of CMOS technologies.
